Updated: Jun 6, 2023

Colorado Springs, nestled at the base of the majestic Rocky Mountains, offers a plethora of exciting and family-friendly attractions. With its stunning natural beauty, abundant outdoor activities, and engaging attractions, Colorado Springs is an ideal destination for a memorable vacation with your toddlers. In this blog post, I'll guide you through a variety of experiences and attractions that cater to the interests and needs of your little ones, ensuring a fantastic time for the whole family.

What to Do:

1. Discover the Wonders of Garden of the Gods: Start your adventure by visiting Garden of the Gods, a breathtaking natural wonder. Toddlers will be in awe of the towering red rock formations and the opportunity to explore the paved trails suitable for strollers. Enjoy a leisurely walk, spot wildlife, and let your little ones marvel at the unique formations that make this park a true wonderland.

2. Explore the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo: Take your toddlers on a memorable journey through the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, the highest zoo in America. This family-friendly attraction offers an array of interactive exhibits, animal encounters, and the chance to feed giraffes. Don't miss the Mountaineer Sky Ride, a chairlift that provides stunning views of the zoo and the surrounding landscape.

This was by far my favorite zoo to visit with the interactive animal exhibits, the closeness of the animals, and the accessibility for young kids. The zoo is located on a mountain and is extremely hilly so make sure to prepare with comfortable shoes, a stroller for the little ones, and water for the dry summer heat!

3. Delve into Hands-On Learning at the Space Foundation Discovery Center: Fuel your toddlers' curiosity by visiting the Space Foundation Discovery Center. This interactive museum introduces young minds to the wonders of space exploration through engaging exhibits, including a space shuttle simulator, a Mars Rover experience, and a science on a sphere display. Hands-on activities and educational programs ensure an entertaining and educational visit. Build spaceships with blocks, decorate your own paper planes, and learn more about space with toddler-friendly activities!

4. Enjoy Family Fun at the North Pole - Santa's Workshop: For a magical experience, head to the North Pole - Santa's Workshop. This Christmas-themed amusement park delights young visitors with festive rides, a visit to Santa's House, and charming shops. Toddlers can enjoy gentle rides, meet Santa and his helpers, and soak up the enchanting atmosphere. Take a ride on the train, overlook the park in the Ferris wheel, and watch the Santa show in the North Pole theatre.

5. Embrace Nature at the North Chayenne Cañón Park: Spend a day immersed in nature at the North Chayenne Cañón Park. Take leisurely walks along the kid-friendly trails and explore the refreshing waterfalls that lead to an adorable creek. The center offers guided nature hikes, wildlife viewing opportunities, and educational programs that cater to young nature enthusiasts.

Pro Tip: Use a kangaroo pouch or a hiking backpack for your little ones to hike with ease for your babies and toddlers

6. Unleash Creativity at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum: Introduce your toddlers to the rich history of Colorado Springs at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. While young children may not grasp the historical significance, they can engage with hands-on exhibits and interactive displays that bring the past to life. The museum hosts storytelling sessions and special events tailored to young visitors.

Conclusion:

Colorado Springs offers a wealth of engaging and toddler-friendly experiences that will create lasting memories for the whole family. From awe-inspiring natural wonders to interactive museums and enchanting amusement parks, the city provides a perfect blend of outdoor adventures and educational attractions. Embrace the beauty of Colorado Springs while catering to your toddlers' needs, ensuring a family vacation filled with joy, exploration, and wonder.
